The Mother’s Lament

In Malaysia, where the elephant population is large, it is common for them to venture onto the country’s roads, often causing accidents with truck and car drivers.
In the photo, we see the mother of a young elephant who met a horrific death under the wheels of a truck, trying in vain to save it, not wanting to move away from the incident for even a minute, despite people’s attempts to move her away.
