Malaga

Life on the Costa del Sol – Malaga through the eyes of Yudith Martinez

Sun, sea, mountains, intense nightlife, but also an increasingly expensive everyday life. Yudith Martinez writes about Malaga as she sees and experiences it herself.

From my perspective, Malaga is a charming and at the same time calm city. It is a place that combines different images and different rhythms of life.

What I like most is its landscapes. The sea and beaches are located next to mountainous areas and this alternation creates truly beautiful images. Between the sea and the mountains, you can always find a beautiful place to spend some time, walk or just enjoy the view.

Life, however, does not stop when the sun sets.

Malaga at night

In the evenings, especially in the center of Malaga, the city takes on a different rhythm. The streets are filled with people and gastronomy is an important part of city life.

Restaurants, small eateries and nightlife venues create a lively atmosphere. It is a city where you can enjoy both the tranquility of the day and a more intense night out.

The other side: the cost of living

But there is also a different reality.

The high demand for housing has significantly affected rents. Although in many cases they can still be lower than in Madrid, the cost of housing has increased significantly.

And this is something that affects the daily lives of people who live here permanently.

So Malaga is not just the sun and the images that a visitor sees on their vacation. It is a city with beauty, intense life and many choices, but at the same time with the difficulties that a region with great demand and continuous development faces today.

For me, however, it remains a beautiful and peaceful place. A place where the sea, the mountains and city life meet daily.
