The government’s political narrative once again collapses based on ELSTAT figures showing an increase in inflation by half a point from 2% to 2.5% in May, a large number even based on what is happening in other European countries.
At every opportunity, the narrative of recovery is presented, with government officials citing macroeconomic data that, however, does not reflect reality or the everyday lives of citizens.
The rhetoric is nice, but the constant increases in supermarkets and utility bills are constantly hitting purchasing power.
So far, initiatives are either absent or remain insufficient.
